Portugal’s natural beauty is breath taking. There is so much to explore all the way from the north to southern Spain, however the Algarve in the south with its red rock cliffs towering against the ocean below takes you into a dream world. It is a place of adventure such as hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming as well as romantic evenings in restaurants and villages that take you back in time with their charm.
GETTING AROUND
Several ways to get around:
Renting a Car
Taxi
Uber
Train
Bus
Driving is easy in Portugal for the most part. On the main roads, the roads are wide and well marked, however in the small towns, the roads can be extremely narrow where there is only space for one car. Personally I prefer getting the smallest car size because it’s easy to park and to pass on the small roads.
The main airport of the Algarve is Faro. There are car rental companies at the airport itself.
WHERE TO STAY
There are so many beautiful places in the Algarve that you can divide it into 3 sections and spend a few days in each and make excursions to the places nearby.
For example Carvoeiro can be one. Praia da Luz area can be another. Tarifa can be another. Albufeirra can be another.
The winter in the Algarve is mild compared to many parts of the world and the weather is usually quite pleasant. In the summer its hot and can get REALLY hot.
